Mostly gratuitous

I'm on a tear lately. THREE blog posts in one month!

go. me.

I had an idea for a peasant top and shorts combo this morning. I whipped up a non-muslin muslin to check the fit. My child did not feel like wearing the top for more then twelve seconds, so I bribed her, thinking I could study photos to make pattern adjustments.

I told her she could have three scoops of vanilla bean ice cream before (before!) lunch if she'd let me take some pictures of her in the shirt.

I like the shirt well enough, but the pictures of the girl were well worth the bribe.

Boys are cool too.

Inspired by Made by Rae's "Celebrate the Boy" month, I decided to sew a little for my big kids.

I dyed these fabrics using Dana's tutorial . And the dog is my first try at reverse applique. I followed the tutorial from That*Darn*Kat.

We got the darling DNA for the boy from our collective good looking ancestors.

Thanks for the great inspiration and tutorials ladies!

Thanks for the good DNA ancestors!

And now for something different..

I come to my blog (multiple times) daily to check my blogroll and see what's new with all my favorite bloggers. And I'm getting sick of seeing my lone November post over. and over. and over. and over.

So for my viewing pleasure, since I can't imagine anyone other then my BFFs actually view this oft neglected page, is my latest sewing project:

Ta da!

And here's to hoping this is as close to rebellion-wear that she ever comes.
